New Year - New Way Forward
Our business is changing fast, global economies are changing fast too! None of us has ever experienced such economic turmoil and none of us has remained untouched by what has happened to our western lifestyles.

However, we at STC remain optimistic that business opportunities will still arise, just not always in the same way as they have done previously. Companies like STC will be expected to deliver extra value at the costs which reflect the restructuring of the global economy.

So what is our new way forward?

Well for starters we have changed our name to STC Global Ltd. This rebranding better reflects our international aspirations for global corporate training solutions in energy markets like the USA, the Middle East & the Far East.

Another major change for 2009 will be our public course delivery at the AECC. Our new 2009 modular learning programme reflects the success of STC’s ‘Academy’ training solutions over the past 2 years. The programme operates with the strap line ‘watch you grow’ and comprises 8 high impact modules that can be accessed completely standalone as is the case with our present offerings.

The real difference is how the modules link together to create individual learning paths for your people. We actively encourage forward thinking and planning in line with PDP’s & the appraisal process and to this end there is a financial incentive for using the programme this way.

Please note also that our public offerings for the US / Gulf of Mexico market have followed a similar path and for those with an interest a schedule of 6 new modules is available with delivery commencing early in 2009. Courses will run out of the brand new Petrofac Training Centre in Houston.

Training Highlights:

• Julia McVey achieves top marks at the Wellcome Trust in Cambridge for her excellent 2-day Effective Supervisors Workshop.

• Hazel & Mark contribute at The Nabors Drilling Annual QHSE Conference in Abu Dhabi. The event was attended by 60 QHSE professionals from Nabors global locations – an amazing 30 countries!

• The RBG “Managing our Future” management development programme is heralded a big success with 2 more roll-outs scheduled for 2009, including 1 for the international business.

• The Prosafe ‘Progress’ Management Academy is now more than half way to completion and is attracting excellent delegate numbers & feedback.

• FMC’s ‘Pulling Together’ modular development programme has launched at the UK manufacturing facility in Dunfermline with some 50 people signing up for development in the remainder to 08 and 09.

• Graduate development via the ‘Out in Front’ programme at Wood Group Engineering continues to receive great feedback with 2009 dates already in place.

• The business process side of STC’s activity continues to develop strong industry profile with Project & Reliability contracts at CNR, Cairn Energy & Britannia respectively.
